March?!?!

I can't believe it is March already and knowing all that we'll be doing this month I know it will be April before we know it. To be honest I can't wait until April since it means slightly warmer weather... right?!?! I am just having major issues with this snow this year. The girls are loving it and we've had the annual blizzards and it's time for some sun, warm sun that is.

I've been getting comments from family and friends that it's time to post again and I decided there was a lot to post about but very few pictures. I haven't taken pictures since January and today was the first time I took the camera out and uploaded pictures from then and took a few of the girls this morning.

Yeah, I thought you would enjoy those.... I sure did! These girls.. what can I say? They crack me up! They are my favorite part of being home all day stuck in this little house. They are full of entertainment, songs and of course the screaming and fighting, normal right? We have a pretty good routine going lately, the girls come into our bed in the morning, Lily on my right and Leah on my left, Andrew gets pushed to the edge. We play "I spy in the middle of the road", the first item in the road is usually an ice cream cone with "Balentimes" sprinkles on top, and I always get to be the one who "eight/ate it". Then after a few minutes of that Lily asks for breakfast which is usually oatmeal. The girls sit at the bar while I get them breakfast and we talk about things we have to do that day, their list includes "Watch Blue's Clues one at a time, not two at a time, Mom!" (not sure what that means but Lily always says it). Leah usually wants to do some drawings, these are a few that she did the other day. I find drawings like this all over the house. She really is getting quite good and sometimes ventures into drawing snakes, alligators, dogs (Blue), dinosaurs and even Tinker Bell.

I like the guy second from the Left on the top row, it looks like he's doing some kind of Disco move. I'm always impressed with her art skills, I only wish that her Great-Grandma Baum were here to rant and rave about them because I know she would.

Like I said, we've had plenty of snow and back in January we decided to make a Saturday snow day and take Nati to the Habecost (still not sure how to spell that) place to do some sledding, snowmachining and have a weenie roast. It was a beautiful day! Have I ever mentioned how much both of my girls love being outside in the snow? Well they do and they have no fear when it comes to sledding down large hills by themselves. We found a nice spot on the North side of the field and set up the fire and supplies at the edge of the cliff down to the river. It was very perfect, or so we thought...

Grandma and Grandpa took the girls to the top of the hill and sent Leah down first, all was good until Leah decided to somehow venture off the track.

I was about a quarter of the way up the hill taking pictures, enjoying seeing Leah fly down the hill, pom poms in the wind, when I realized she was still going really fast. Knowing that the cliff was not far away I screamed, "ANDREW!!!! GET HER!!!!", I turn to try and go myself but being slow in the snow I knew I wouldn't make it. Then I see Andrew running with amazing speed to stop Leah. He dove out onto his stomach about 6 feet and just managed to stop her before she plunged over the edge.
He even dove right out of his overlarge boot! You can see it there, Leah somewhat oblivious and thinking this was all fun, decided to help him out and get the boot. OH my goodness, I think we were all laying in the snow laughing knowing now that everything was okay.

Now remember, Lily was still up there and even though we had that near mishap with Leah, my parents decide to send her down too. She did just fine until at about the same time as Leah decides to head off the track and off towards the cliff!

Lily, calm as ever, is flying faster than Leah had at this point and fortunately Andrew and Nati were there by this time to stop her from going off the edge. Lily probably would have caught some pretty good air had she gone off the edge because was so light. So that was all very exciting.
We moved our sledding track over quite a ways after those exciting runs, but now we have a great story to tell and even now I'm laughing out loud at how funny it really was. I asked Leah if she remembered that day and all she can remember is that I burned her sock trying to dry it over the fire on a hot dog stick, she's still pretty sore about that. Oh well....

I had a few people ask to see the pictures of the doll house that Santa made for the girls this Christmas. He did a really good job and the girls love it. Now to make sure we don't lose all of the pieces and keep them all from getting broken. :)
Well, this week has been a busy one and we're only in the middle. Last night was Idaho's GOP Caucus and we were excited to help out with that and take part in something that has never happened in Idaho. Very interesting and very exciting! I am pretty sure that Idaho has to be Mitt Romney's new favorite state.

Today we have preschool at our house and we are learning about the letter V, so violets in vases, volcanoes, veggie treats and planting vegetables are on the schedule. I hope the kids like it, I know Leah loves having her friends come over.

After preschool I have a meeting for the High School Musical that I'm helping out with this year, I am doing all of the choreography and at first I was a little overwhelmed but am now very excited to start teaching the kids. It gives me something to really focus on and gets me out of the house. The play is Hee Haw Hayride which is a Hillbilly Romeo and Juliet. Very silly and very fun! Right up my alley!

Tomorrow we are headed to Cedar City to stay with Tennyson and Miranda. We will stay one night and then down to Phoenix on Friday so that we can spend a week in the sun at my parents new house. I'm determined to take lots of pictures while down there and soaking up some rays while letting the girls play in the pool. Should be a great little vacation!

I'll try and stay more updated now that I'm feeling a lot better. P.S. I find out the gender of the baby in April, by then I'll be around 23 weeks along.
