After the wedding, Mom, Leah, Lily and I headed over the mountain to Castle Dale to spend a week with the Fauvers, Fullers and Colemans. It was a very relaxed week and it was nice to just hang out with family and do a little of what I always do in Castle Dale lately, QUILT.
The lesson learned with this quilt is to buy good white sashing fabric, measure and cut precisely and always use a quarter inch seam allowance, then you don't have to completely unpick your first attempt at the quilt top and have your Aunt Jenny completely redo it for you. In my defense it was a last minute project before heading to Utah and I was tired from being preggo and didn't spend the time and effort I should have, but as I said Aunt Jenny came to the rescue and it turned out beautiful. :) The quilt is going to a friend of mine who may even be at the hospital right now as I type this having her third little girl. I quilted it with flowers and leaves and just finished hand stitching the binding on Monday. It turned out so summery and cute that it's going to be hard to give away but I know I'll probably see it every week at church so that makes me feel better, kind of...
The other quilt for baby Russell is quilted, thank goodness I didn't have to redo that one but it is ready to be bound and I just haven't got around to it yet, I'll post pictures of that later.
The girls had such a good time wandering from Grandpa's house up to Aunt Lizzy's house they came and went as they pleased. Uncle Dennis found the perfect items for entertainment on our hot days, water guns!
Cousin Noah Coleman got out the real water gun, the pressure washer...
Lily took a turn with the pressure washer, she couldn't aim very well, she just waited for people to walk into her line of fire.
A trip to Utah is not complete with out our annual Tea Party.
It was delicious and I'm glad that my girls get to experience it on a regular basis throughout the summer, either with Aunt Lizzy or with Grandma Baum. We love our tea parties!
After the tea party the girls thought they would help themselves to the left over lemonade. Nobody seemed to care so I snapped a pic.
After our wonderful visit in Castle Dale we went to SLC to do some family history work at the Joseph Smith Memorial building. We got a lot accomplished and I look forward to getting a lot more done as far as the Armenian side of the family goes, I've been touched by the Spirit of Elijah and want to get some things straightened out while I nest this summer. :)
Thanks everyone for such a great trip to Utah, we had such a good time, but alas it is my last vacation before this baby arrives. From here on out I am not to leave any further than Idaho Falls. So you if you want to visit with the Schauerhamers you must come to us.... ALL ARE WELCOME!!!!!!
