Well I just finished my second day back to school after my break from having Leah. Let's just say I have had a very warm welcome from my students. They are really happy to have me back. Their substitute was a 60-70 year old man that was not used to teaching students today. The students just couldn't relate to him. While I was gone apparantly they completely trashed my classroom, written on all of the desks in marker, flooded one of the sinks so much that it over flowed and leaked down into the classroom below, i'm not talking just a trickle but a full gush of water coming from the ceiling. I would have thought that the administration would have taken care of all of that but apparently nobody was punished and all the bad deeds have been forgotten. I am trying to reinstate my discipline which isn't all that difficult considering they appreciate me more now than ever.
One of my students asked me if I was excited to come back or if I would rather be back at the hospital. I laughed and informed him that I hadn't been at the hospital the entire six weeks. He was a little embarassed but obviously had no idea. I have actually really enjoyed my first two days back to work and it's fun to see my students even the ones that used to give me a hard time. The break has been good for me but it's nice to see them all again and be back on a set schedule. I am, however, very tired after school each day. I am very thankful to Stacy for taking Leah for me these two weeks before the Christmas break. I just hope my babysitter doesn't go into labor then I don't know what I'll do. Mom you may have to come down a little early!
