Delicious desserts.

Our one cute little spider, Maddy and her Dad Nathan.

Well it was about time to start "The All Hallows Pursuit of Grim" so I put them in groups and handed out their little trick or treat buckets.

Their first clue had them find two items: a pumpkin, and straw after they had their items they were to go to the LDS church and count all of the parking spaces.

One group got the number right but had forgotten to get a pumpkin so they ran home and got their own pumpkin that had already been carved. They were worried that while they were gone the other groups would get far a head so one of the teammates grabbed the keys from one of the opposing teams and chucked them. Poor Vic had to go search for her keys while the rest of her team counted. It was all for fun, no hard feelings though.
Clue 2 had them find this headstone and rub the dates of this man's existence, then they were to decode the morse code to find seven pieces of chocolate. Once they had those items they had to find the Walker's house on Pine street where Andrew was waiting to feed them a "delicious" meal.

The eerie eyeballs and mummified fingers.

Then they were to go find a recipe for Devil's food cake and then decode the phone number, which was ours, and listen to the message that told them to get Snow White's deadly fruit, which was an apple.

Then they had to go out to our farm and to our cellar to carve their pumpkins and then light them. Then I gave them clue #4. Which had them take a picture of a tractor and find toilet paper. Then go to this place.

This is what it looked like at night. They were pretty scared! They had to venture in, some didn't remember their flashlight so the Walker's had their camera and took pictures for light. So they have a picture every five feet going through the old elevator. Here they are.

"Andrew" holding the clues.

Then they had to go to the windbreak across the street to find the final task.

Once they had that done and their deviation items and their pumpkins they won. It was down to the wire for the first team. Andrew Walker barely made it there on time.

Victory!!!

Poor pumpkin.
Then we talked around the fire and waited for the other teams to check in.

Notice Meieli with her caramel apple. This is what she used as Snow White's deadly fruit. She carried it around like this the whole rest of the race. I"m impressed she didn't scarf it down after she showed it. They were darn good!

The winning team.

Halloween
We hung out with the Walkers most of the day.

Trunk or treat on Main.

What is this Disneyland?

We met friends along the way.

Back at the Walker's to hand out candy.

Margie showed us her amazing hat collection.

Lily fell asleep.

Then woke with a jump.

THen we took the kids to my mom's and then we headed up to the Haunted Herriman which is in Island Park and they had a cool hay ride and haunted scenes. We went trick or treating, through a haunted house and had hot chocolate and donuts up there. It was very fun and I'm thinking that should be a tradition as long as they do it. It was a pretty impressive set up!

I'm exhausted just finishing this post. Holy cow that was long. We had a great Halloween thanks to friends and we hope to make this a tradition! See you all next year!

Morgan it looks like so much fun. I enjoyed seeing the costumes and reading the explanations of the treasure chase. What was the prize. Was it the apples? They looked delicious. I'm sure all your guests had a great time. It seems that all your efforts were paid up.
