Ashton is going green! It is the time of the summer where everything is green. The fields are green my lawn is green again (long story involving Andrew spraying weeds) and my garden is green.
Looking out towards the Tetons. I realize that I live in a prime location. A day doesn't go by where I don't see tourists parked across the street getting this breathtaking view of the Tetons, grain field and wheel lines all in one shot. I feel blessed that this is right out my front door.
Out the back door we see the grain fields that have started to head out, meaning they have grown the tassels on top. It is tall enough that the sprinkler heads have been passed up.
Here is Leah playing with my lone little Russell lupin. It was a transplant from my mom's yard that I was surprised even bloomed.
The garden seems to be doing alright depspite it's slow start. I didn't plant until the middle of June and you can tell. Nobody got a head start on their garden this year due to the cold spring.
Yeah the lettuce looks great, a little too close together but beautiful none the less.
Lily's favorite thing to do is to come out and sit in the lettuce, pick and eat it. Good thing I have plenty to spare.
We had a dinner down at Grandma Hawkes' house not too long ago and I noticed that she had her tomatoes surrounded by tires and that they were doing awesome so I took a little stroll around the farm and found plenty of old tires to put around my tomaters. They have done extremely well since!
I am starting small this year as far as flowers go. I only have two little pots but they are really pretty and the
girls like to pick them. Yet they keep blooming and give a little color to all of the green.
We just LOVE SUMMER~
I bought a tomato plant on sale at Wal Mart, brought it home and not a day later did I find all of the green little cherry tomatoes, picked and lying in the dirt at the base of the plant. I wonder who coulda dun it~

the girlies are so beautiful and i have never noticed before your last two posts how much they resemble each other. their eyes are very similar and their mouths. when they grow up i wonder if they will experience what my sisters and i experience: people getting us mixed up, asking if we are twins or just saying "i can tell you are sisters". it still happens to us.
I agree with Lizzy. The girls are looking more and more like each other. Your garden looks amazing. Your lettuce looks so wonderful. Just think of all of the delicious salads you will be able to make.
OH MY GOSH!!! Those little girls are SO DANG CUTE!!! It is so hard to look at pictures of them because every time I see one I just want to hug and squeeze them! My favorite picture is the one where they are both sitting on the tires and Leah is cheesing it and Lily is smiling with her eyes closed! AHH! so so SO cute!
Your garden is looking amazing! So is your blog! Seriously Morgan, you are just good at everything you do!!
Can't wait to see you guys in a few days for the Reunion!!
Ashton is SO green and beautiful! We drove up to Mesa Falls with my family last week. It was fun, we went on a few nice hikes. You do live in a such an amazing place!
Your Mom will love this post. I'm glad that we get blessed by having your Mom and Dad in Ethiopia. I love the more frequent posts on your blog. The girlies are so cute and they are growing better than your garden, which is growing very well, especially since you planted it in the middle of June.
Hey! Everything looks so beautiful up there. I wish there was someplace for Kenny to work in that area because I would love to live out there someday. Speaking of that, thanks for the offer of helping us pack up our house, be we've been doing ok. Kenny just got word today that he starts work on Monday, so we are moving this weekend. We found a place last Saturday, we have been packing all week, and then we'll be heading down on Friday with a trailer load. As for our pets, we are able to keep our dogs, we found homes for 3 of our cats, and we are currently working with the landlord to see if we can keep our other two cats outside (no cats inside is the rule). If not, then are you willing to take our two most favorite cats (Abbie and Chevy)?
