Moffs and Sheeps

First off, I would like to announce the winners of the General Conference quiz. Yes there are winners, plural. Margie, Sara and Anne Adele since you are the only ones to give it a try, you are all winners! Yay! But as for the top two spots, those to go Margie and Anne Adele because they both got the same amount correct. So yep there was a tie and maybe I will bring something for you back from Rome or Ethiopia!

This summer Leah has been a little obsessed with moths, but she calls them "moffs". She finds them dead around the house and then uses two shoes to pick them up and throw them in the trash. These pics show her doing just that. :) hehe

And here she is telling me how old she is going to be on "octover tentyfird".

Leah loves playing with her toys and can easily make a mess in less than two seconds. It keeps me busy.

On Sunday Leah and Lily both had high fevers and I thought it was just a cold. But by Tuesday I noticed that both their gums were starting to get really red and swollen. And Leah started getting a cold sore on the side of her mouth. You can see that in the picture above. They both now have blisters on the tips of their tongues and canker sores on the insides of their cheeks. So I started freaking out a little but learned that they have contacted a virus called, Gingivostomatitis. Gingivostomatitis is common, particularly among children and it can occur after an infection with the herpes simplex virus, which also causes cold sores, not sure where that came from! Anyway apparently they will soon get over it but for now my girls are miserable, and therefore so am I. Not fun!

But what WAS fun was the other day I just randomly decided to open the curtains and take a look outside and what did I see? A huge herd of sheep making their way across my front and back lawns! I kind of screamed really really loud and scared Andrew. He thought some terrible accident had happened out on the highway. It's just that that was the last thing I expected to see when looking through my front window. So I grabbed my camera and ran outside!

Margie was over at the time because she is on Spud Harvest break and she was very excited to see the sheep too. They soon made their way over to the field they were supposed to be in, not the mint. :) But for a brief few moments we were a ranch, and not a farm. :)

How strange to have so many sheep mozying through your yard. Did your sheep herding gene break free and did you go out and help move them to winter pasture. Your Mom used to love to go out with the Uncles and help move the sheep from the desert up into to mountains. I'm sorry the girlies aren't feeling well. I hope that they get better soon.

Yes, that is true, I did love to herd sheep. I had forgotten. I feel so bad about the girls' mouths. Is ther some kind of a rinse that you could get that would help the sores in their mouths? I hate that the cold sores are showing up. Did you buy some herpecin-L lip balm and some camphophenique? I use them and the seem to ease the pain and shorten the duration of the cold sores. There are many "moffs" in my bedroom every night. Becausevwe have no screens in our windows. Leah will be very busy. Cute pics. Thanks for posting them.

Hey Morgan, I should have told you that you should use Abreva to get rid of the cold sores. It's expensive but it really works and works faster than anything else I have tried.

Poor girls! I remember a couple of summers ago, Craig's sister came to live with us in Seattle while her husband was doing an internship. Her two girls came down with something that sounds just like this. She called the Pediatrician who said it was probably just Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease. However, the sores never appeared on their hands or feet. So now I wonder if it was what your girls have. I bet they are miserable!!
