Monday, Memorial Day, we were invited to go to Green Canyon Hot Springs with the Butikofers and some Hawkes families to celebrate Ulyssa's birthday. We had a great time swimming and my girls absolutely loved swimming. They swam for three hours! Lily zonked as soon as we got out of the water to roast our hot dogs for dinner and Leah zonked in the car on the way home. They were plum worn out but had a blast in the pool.
The next day we were invited down to Rigby to Ulyssa's second birthday party. It was a sunny day but a little windy, but despite the wind all the little girls played on a brand new play house/swing set they set up only days before, (We need something like that!), threw water balloons, played Twister, decorated cupcakes and opened presents.
That morning I made little Ulyssa's gift from us, a homemade Memory Game. I had Andrew cut some 1/4" particle board into small 3" x 3" squares, then on one side of each of the tiles I Modge Podged a square of scrapbook paper and on the other sides I Modge Podged two pictures of each member of the Butikofer, both sets of grandparents, and our little family so she would remember who gave her the gift. Then I sewed a little draw string bag to hold all the tiles. It turned out better than I expected and unfortunately I don't have a picture of them! How did I do that? Maybe Lisa will take one for me. :) I played the game with Ulyssa and found that it was a perfect gift because she is darn good at Memory!
Here are a few pictures of the party guests and activities.
Birthday Girl!
Thanks for the invite Butikofers, we love hanging out with you guys and hope that Ulyssa had a wonderful two birthdays! Glad we could come and join the party!

I've been debating this spring whether or not to put the girls in swimming lessons but since Monday at the pool I've decided I ought to since they loved it so much. I researched it a bit and found out that Ashton does swimming lessons throughout the summer but it's kind of hard to get into. Ashton has the only pool North of Rexburg so people from all over the surrounding communities come to Ashton. I was a little disappointed to find that out but decided I would give it a try even if I did have to wait in line for a couple of hours before they open the doors to register. Well, on Thursday one of my good friends, Britney, called me and asked if I would help with swim lesson registration, that meant I got to sign the girls up early and for sure get a spot! Hooray! So that's what I did this morning and both girls are officially signed up for swimming lessons, Leah in the Pre class and Lily and I in the Mom and tot! I'm pretty excited about it! That will be July 11-15.

Both the girls had a sleepover at Grandma's house last night and did well, which is good because I think it should become a weekly thing. Today was the first really nice (no wind) sunny day. It was so warm we decided we were going to spend most of the day outside in the sun.
Now we are tired from all of our play waiting for Andrew to come home from the fields, all this nice weather is just what they need to finish drilling, so hopefully the sun continues!

Leah totatlly looks like a little marathoner! Her swim suit is pretty cute! Also, I totally want to make a game thing like that for my neices and nephews. I was thinking along the lines of trading cards. I loved your idea though for the younger kids!
Aww! I love teaching swimming lessons, but I wish I had these two in my class! Oh well, I'll have to settle with teaching the cute little kids here.
