Last week we had the Butikofer kids come and stay with us while their parents were in Hawaii. Lucky!! So needless to say we had a full house in our very little house! But we sure had a good time with them and loved having them come.
Monday night we were all having FHE when Andrew noticed this beautiful, HUGE rainbow outside. It was brilliant colors and it went the entire way from one side to the other, I could only get half in view of my camera.
We took the kids for a little walk around the farm to see all the machinery and equipment. They seemed to like it! We enjoyed showing them what a farm is like.
Of course you can't get that many girls together and not have a tea party so that's what we did on Tuesday. Before they came the girls had made cute party hats to wear, soo fun!
Ulyssa, Leah, Izzy, Mom, Olivia, Ethan, Statton, and Ashlee (Lily was sleeping)
Hope Ashlee remembers how easy it is to make cream puffs. She did such a good job on these that they were eaten up quite fast!
Wednesday we had plans to go to the city pool and go swimming but when we got there we found that they were having mechanical issues and the pool was closed. Bummer! So we kept on driving and went to Jim's boat dock at the end of Warm River. We had a great time watching the older kids, Ashlee, Ethan and Izzy float down the river with just life jackets. They seemed to have a great time doing that despite the bruises they would have later. Also while we were there we waded in the more shallow water and came across some snakes. They were just little Garter snakes so we picked them up and checked them out and then flung them back out into the water. I'm not sure if Olivia will ever go swimming there again but at least Ethan enjoyed them.
Thursday we had an end of irrigation party with the rest of the Baum family along with Jason Hawkes one of our pipe movers. Andrew planned the whole thing and had it not rained just before the dinner it would have been better but at least later on it cleared up so that we could all go out and blow up Ice Bombs, Andrew's favorite past time. Jason ended up staying and playing games with all of us and then decided to stay the night.
The next morning, Friday, we made plans to go to Tear Drop lake and meet up with the Schauerhamers (Grandma, Grandpa, Joanie and Emily) We took our large tubes, lunch and headed up. It was a fun day despite the horse flies. Afterwards, on our way home, we stopped by to feed the fish and it was the best time we've had there. The fish were plentiful and very hungry! They were jumping straight out of the water and fighting over our leftover hot dog buns. They were also very close to the little dock and Ethan couldn't help but stick his hands out and try and catch one. He was unsuccessful but he still said it was cool to have reached in and touched a fish. Glad they all had a good time, we did too.
Saturday we cleaned up and went down to Rigby to stay at the Butikofer's house so that we could be to a baby blessing the next morning in Idaho Falls. I am sure the kids were happy to come home and I was happy to get out of our crowded little house. The blessing on Sunday was wonderful, it was Marlese and Nathan Seaver's little boy Brayden. He is a cutie!
Monday we had to leave the kids to go pick up their parents from the airport. We had a good time and enjoyed entertaining for the week. We hope to have them up again for more fun, but I hear that school starts soon. RATS!
