Thanksgiving Weekend

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend because we sure did! We were down in Castle Dale for the weekend to spend time with my mom's family and to go to the bridal shower for my cousin Miranda.
These are the girlies on Thanksgiving day morning. We had a relaxing morning before we started in on the preparations for the food.
I think this is a great picture of Kelsie and Essie, but Andrew and Leah.... not so much. :)

So my Aunt Jenny has purchased a quilting machine and has encouraged us all to help her put it to good use. So I brought down a quilt that my mom and I have worked on and pieced about a year ago and I thought it would be perfect to take down and get quilted. So I got it on the machine and I quilted it in about an hour. It was really fun to do and it turned out really quick. Now all I have to do is the binding.
Here is a closeup of the quilting and cute fabrics.

I think the back even turned out cute with the different patterns.

This is the high tech machine that you have to "steer" or guide to make the cute designs. It took some getting used to but by the end I was feeling pretty confident.

I decided to take a picture of our place settings at the Thanksgiving day table.
Here is the MOUNTAIN of mashed Idaho potatoes.

The table.

After dinner, it was on to the pies. Leah had her own little pie that she could dig into. She really enjoyed it I think once she got past the top crust.

After dinner and the following nights we played several group games. Leah didn't always last through the games. Here is an example of how tired and exhausted she was after a hard day's worth of playing.
Wiped out!
These guys look a little wiped out too!
I brought down Baby Einstein for the babies and each time I put it on they were locked on the screen. It's funny how well Baby Einstein works and how mesmerizing it is for a baby.
Miranda's bridal shower went well, it was a lot of fun to see her open her gifts and of course to eat the delicious food we prepared.

Leah of course was able to come to the party too. You can see some remenants of red punch.

Leah wanted to play Bridal Bingo too, she may have got a Bingo but couldn't quite spit out the word.
After the party Leah had a little accident and bonked her little eye on the corner of the coffee table. It is a pretty good sized cut and she has a bit of a black eye. I am sure it won't be the last. She is a little crazy!
Zack and grandpa helped her to recooperate.
There is nothing that helps you feel better more than one of Lizzy's shortbread cookies.
Overall it was a wonderful weekend and we had a blast. We only wish that it could have lasted longer. Thanks to everyone for the delicious food and the fun company!

You have the best photos! I love the one of Leah all sprawled out on Sara. The one of the three boys is great too! It was great having everyone all together again at Grandpa's house. Christmas will be hard with everyone in different locations.
