And Thus Ended July

A couple of weeks ago my mom, Leah, Lily and I headed down to Salt Lake City to see Whitney, our missionary from Honduras, come home. It was so wonderful to see her and she looks so great! Here she is holding one of the two little babies born while she was gone.

Leah took to Whitney too. Maybe because she brought her these adorable little homemade sandals from Honduras for her to wear the rest of the summer.

We went to the Jordan River temple the next day and then headed to Castle Dale to hang out there until the 23rd.
Here is Brooks and Leah enjoying some Otter Pops while the rest of us Slip'd and Slid. :)

I wish I had some pictures of us slippin sliding but all we have are videos on my video camera. But Leah did slide down about 5 times and liked it.

Later that evening we made some tin foil dinners and went to Joe's Valley for a little evening in the mountains. It was really fun, here are some pics of the fun.

The next morning we went to Whitney's homecoming at their ward in Orangeville. She did such a wonderful job despite her loss for some English words and cute Spanish accent. :) Here is Leah outside the church in her cute Sunday dress.

Lily was hungry as you can tell.
So most everyone went home but we decided to stay so here we are enjoying Castle Dale and Grandpa Jorgensen's house to it's fullest. Leah loved this swing and insisted that everyone take her out to swing all of the time.

Here is Lily, she is getting so cute and chunky. Look at all those rolls. She's a healthy girl!

Then we came back just in time to go to the Hawke's family reunion here in Ashton. It was a lot of fun but I didn't get any pictures darn it!
Then on the 24th we went to the parade in St. Anthony. It was a very good parade.

My dad always hands out something from the Farm Bureau float so here he is helping, but as he passed he asked Andrew and Zack to help so off they went and we didn't see them again until the end of the parade.  I guess the parade attendees were really thirsty for free chocolate milk.

Yesterday my mom threw together a very cute little tea party for Leah, Lily and me. It was so nice outside and the scenery was beautiful.  We had mint tea, graham crackers and frosting, bread and hummas. It was a very cute, fun tea party.

After the tea party I went out to my garden and found these wonderful veggies.
So I decided to make one of our favorite side dishes for dinner. I just munched on the peas while I made it.
It's a zucchini and tomato casserole with cheese. So first you slice the zucchini and tomatoes and grate any kind of cheese. We had Colby Jack.
You just make a layer of zucchini, then tomatoes and then cheese, salt and pepper the tomatoes each time.

Cover and put in the microwave for 8-10 minutes. Or until all of the veggies are soft. I love love love this dish, it makes me think of late summer. It is delicious and you should try it!

I'm sad that July is over and that the summer is coming to an end. I saw a "Back to School" commercial yesterday and about killed over thinking I had to go back and teach.... but NO I don't I get to stay home with my girls and take lunch out to Andrew during harvest. I now really look forward to fall instead of dread it because summer is over. We look forward to seeing some of you in the middle of August for Zack's farewell, the 16th. See you then!

I am in love with that picture of Leah on the swing close up. It is too cute for words. You should frame it. Or maybe I will
