Before we headed South for the holidays Andrew and I hosted a yummy dinner for all of the Schauerhamer and Butikofer family. We had them over the Saturday before Christmas and had delicious ham, twice baked potatoes, my favorite salad, corn and yummy appetizers. We also played games and had a great time.
It gave me a chance to get out my Spode Christmas dishes and glasses. The tables were beautiful despite the poor camera quality.
The head or "grown up" table. We had Allen and Elaine Schauerhamer, Crystal and David Baughman, Bryan and Lisa Butikofer and us on this table.
The kids or "little Girlies" table included Leah, Olivia and Ulyssa.
The "big girlies" table had Emily, Ashley and Isabella minus Joanie because she was on a date.
The boys table included Ethan and Barry.
It was a wonderful party and we loved having everyone come who could and I hope that it started off your Christmas holiday well because it sure did for us!
Then on Tuesday we headed to Salt Lake City to break up our seven and a half hour drive. We stopped in at the Jorgensens and tried out their new camera by taking pictures of the girlies.
Later that night and the next morning Stacy started having stomach cramps and ended up in the hospital minus one grapefruit sized cyst and one ovary. We are happy to have her back with us and were happy to take care of her kids while she recooped over the holiday break!
While all that was going on we headed to the Castle Valley Ranch where we were all staying for a few days. I love the Ranch and I wish we could always have a fun, beautiful and cozy holiday stay. We had the traditional nativity scene. Donkeys, a saddle, robes, (robeys) dish towels etc.
Sweet baby Jesus was tuckered out from all of the festivities.
Que the shepherd... "Hark! SHEPHERD!"
The plethora of presents BEFORE Santa's visit.
After Santa's visit.
The Schauerhamer Couch.
Christmas Morning!!!
A bit chaotic but so much fun! Who cared if you weren't opening a present because there was so much going on. Leah recieved a princess chest full of several "dress ups" and jewelry. Lily got some fun baby toys that kept her entertained. The girls both got knitted hats from Great Aunt Lizzy and of course the quiet book and much much more. They recieved a lot of wonderful gifts! Andrew got three Axis and Allies games, a bunch of CarHart stuff and I got a beautiful skirt made by mom and beautiful shoes and what I've been wanting for years, a red KitchenAid mixer! yay! Thanks everyone for all of the wonderful gifts. The Schauerhamers were spoiled!
We went upstairs and had breakfast. Plenty to feed the thousands. Which seemed to be the theme this holiday. Let's have enough food to feed the whole of central Utah!
I didnt get to go on this nature hike because I was in talking to ZACHARY in URUGUAY! It was soo good to hear his voice and know that he's doing okay! It was nice to know that it is still my little brother Zachary but that he's doing a marvelous work.
These are just a few random pictures of the weekend. Some may be stolen from other blogs. :)
Mean game of Mingle! I love that game!
It's as though all of Leah's wildest dreams have come true!
A Jorgensen family favorite, The Chair Game! It's a good thing Jenny has a high tolerance for pain. I think four people got seriously injured during this game. I'm just glad I didn't break another nose!
One of the best parts of the Holiday break was to take Leslie to the MTC. Even though I didn't actually go to the MTC because of the girlies we were still able to hear her beautiful and wonderful talk she gave in church. Man that girl is going to be one great missionary! I can't wait to hear more from her and her experiences in Costa Rica! We love her and will miss her for the next year and half but we know she is doing the Lord's work and there is nothing better than that!
P.S. These are the gifts I made and gave to Tenny and Whitney. They are earring and necklace hangers. They were fun to make and now I just have to make one for myself!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday! We love you all! Bring it on 2010~

It was wonderful to get onto my computer and see that there was a new blog from you. I knew that it would be all about your holiday festivities. You are such a wonderful hostess. The dinner party at your home looked charming and let me congratulate you on making room for everyone. It was so nice that your family dressed up in their Christmas finery to make your home have that extra special touch.
So glad that you made a serious effort to feed central Utah. I know that the people who live there are close to starving. If you ate like we did you'll all be in serious dieting mode.
I loved all the pictures. Especially the one of your little girls. So cute, I just want to squeeze them. I think that Lily was the perfect Baby Jesus.
Copy, copy, copy! That's what I have done with all of your pics. I am very sorry I missed the manger story.
I was so relieved to see all of your pics posted since I was so silly and forgot my camera in all of the hoopla. Those are so memories that I won't forget of our Holidays together in 2009. Now I have the pictures to also help me remember. Thanks.
