Happy Birthday dear sweet Lily! Lily was born on Easter Sunday two years ago and since then has been a blessing in our lives. Despite her rough start she is now one healthy strong-willed little girl. We love her and can't wait to share more wonderful birthdays with her.
For the party we invited both sets of grandparents, Aunt Joanie and Aunt Emily, along with the Walkers. Earlier that day I had brought in from storage all of the girls summer clothes and dresses and of course Leah went gaga over all of the dresses. Even though they were quite a bit tighter this year than they were last she insisted on wearing them.... all.... at the same time. :)
For dinner we had delicious chicken and broccoli bake over rice along with a delicious fruit salad made from fruits from my bountiful basket (p.s. ask me about BB later!) It was a delicious meal, after dinner we had one very large cake. I attempted to make this... with this inside but let's just say it didn't turn out the way I had planned. Oh well. I would show you pictures but--I didn't take any of the inside.
Lily acted kind of funny while we sang to her. She kept pulling this shy, silly look and would look at us out of the corner of her eye, pursing her lips as if she didn't want us to see her smile. Whatever goofball! Eventually the candles were blown out and everyone had small piece of this very large cake.
Meanwhile... today I have one half of a very large cake sitting on my counter tumbling over because I don't want to eat it and Andrew, my food disposal, left to do custom farming. So the girls nibble here and there but for the most part this cake will be around for a while.
On to the presents, Lily whipped through her presents and settled on an outfit (below) and an activity, coloring books. Thank goodness G and G Baum bought two coloring books to appease the older sister. Yet, there were still a few fights over "colors". Oh well I guess Leah doesn't quite get the idea of special treatment on your birthday. Thanks everyone for the wonderful gifts and fun evening. We loved seeing family and celebrating Lily's birthday with you.
Today, I thought I would post a few pictures of the girls in their spring attire, despite the cold weather outside we have decided to take spring into our own hands and start indoors.
My Aunt Sara sent Lily this cute shirt and a pair of jeans, along with a very little horse from the Jorgensen cousins. Lily loves the horse and totes it around with her everywhere. The skirt came from the Schauerhamers, perfect for her and very sparkly which is right up our alley!
Check out that serious concentration on the perfect arabesque.
Leah saw me taking pictures of Lily and decided she would join in the fun. This is the outfit (and shoes) she woke up in this morning. Wonder when that transition happened?
I cut Lily's hair the morning of her birthday, the back looks great but the bangs.....
not so much. I guess I was hoping too much that she would hold still and not turn her head at the last second.
G and G Baum also got Lily this cute little Toddler Dora backpack. Perfect for toting around random items, the horse, crayons, and books.
Of course, Leah decided to change into another spring dress. I'm not sure why she's so serious in this picture but as soon as I told her to smile she did this.
Typical.
Finally a smile! We just hope our spring-y attitudes will start to spread to the outside. We can't wait for Easter and hope that it's a little warmer in two weeks. Thanks again everyone for the gifts for Lily's birthday, we wish you all could have been there. Happy Easter!

The girls look so cute. I'm missing some little girl time, I've been around boys and only boys for days. Hopefully we will see you guys soon.
Happy Birthday Lily, I hope you like Disney stuff for your birthday...
Love, Whit
Happy Birthday, sweet Lily! Morgan, your girls are so beautiful! I miss them so much, wihsing we could be with you guys this holiday. I have some more Spring clothing to send your way.
What fun fashion shows you must have. If wishes were fishes I would wish for you a sunny bright Easter. It could happen with Easter being so late this year. I'm glad for the springtime in your wardrobes at least.
I have been waiting for your blog for 2 days now to see my little Lily's Birthday celebration. The girls look so cute and fun and of course cuddley. I hope I get to see them before too long. It looks like it was a fun party. I love Leah and all of her dress up and layers. She is a crack up. And Lily's hair looks too cute. She looks so cute in crooked bangs.
Lily's face in the "bangs" picture just says it all! I'm laughing out loud! The cake turned out very nice. :)
