Mom, the kids and I drove down to Salt Lake City this weekend, Andrew and Dad drove down later that day after their farm meeting. We went down to go through the temple with Tennyson Fauver, she is going on a mission to Frankfurt, Germany in March. We also went down for a bridal shower for Leslie Fuller who is getting married in January. On the way down I was wishing that there was going to be some snow but was disappointed that once we hit St. Anthony the snow was gone. We were pleased, however, when we woke up Saturday morning and the roads and trees had a fresh new blanket of snow covering them! The shower was at Sara's and we were staying at Josh and Stacy's so I grabbed the girls in my car and when we got to Sara's I saw the beautiful snow covered trees lining the street and decided to snap some pictures of the girls. At first they were very confused why I wanted them to stand out in the middle of the street, they knew well that you don't do that. But I convinced them to do it and would warn them if a car came, one did but it was only Noah dropping off Becky for the shower.
After enjoying the snow and getting cold we decided we had better get inside. The shower was a brunch so we had delicious sunshine punch, pull apart bread, cranberry orange muffins, bacon wrapped tater tots, egg souffle, fruit and dip, and a few other things. Everything was soo yummy! Sara had also decorated her house really well with great Christmas decorations.
Despite the snow there was a good turn out for the shower, lots of family a few friends and we all had a good time. I was in charge of the games, we did the "Nearly"wed game where Leslie had to answer questions about Jason and Jason told us his answers via Skype on my laptop. We did a Love Story Mad Lib that Sara will put on her blog, and a He Said She Said game where I took quotes from their many emails back and forth and everyone had to decide whether he had said it or she did.
Leslie recieved a lot of great gifts, some of my favorites were the recipes from family members, sheets with love quotes embroidered on them, embroidered dishtowels, etched glass dishes and the box of kitchen stuff (Elizabeth, her mother, had cleaned out her drawers).
