Well, another week has gone by and it was a busy one! It was really good and today it ended with a good game with the Walkers. Stock Market. A pretty fun game I have to admit, even though Andrew was losing the whole game and.... of course ended up winning at the last moment. Whatever....:)
Sorry the picture is side ways! Well I started the week knowing I needed to either buy or make something for a double baby shower that was on Saturday. I decided to make these bibs and burping clothes from from scraps I had and then the nursing cover clips from some extra buttons and ribbon I had. So really I did pretty good considering everythng was just lying around the house.
I had also bought some cute ribbon a week back and decided to make some cute corker bows for Leah and Lily. The color is a little off but you get the idea.
Friday night we were invited to our friends house, James and Meieli Allen. They were great hosts and had a bunch of us friends come over for a cheese and chocolate fondue type party. It was soo much fun and we should do a monthly party I"m thinkng because it was such a blast to get together and just talk and have our kids play and of course to play a silly game. Loved it! Here are a few pics from that party.
Brady, Leah and Ethney. I just realized I have never spelled these kids' names before so I probably just messed them all up but that's how they sound.
Margie and her wonderful chocolate fountain. I brought fruit, and other yummy items for dipping.
Brady wanted to show Andrew how well he draws people. I have to admit he does a really good job.
Here is Lila and Gibson in the background. What cute kids!
Speaking of cute kids....
Leah and Ella grabbed their chairs and got right down to business.
OH and did I mention it was Andrew's birthday!?! Yup, yup, Andrew turned the big 27! It was great to celebrate with such great friends. I thought that the chocolate fountain just wasn't enough so I made some delicious cheesecakes for Andrew. He loved them of course. Saturday I went to the baby shower and then on to I.F. with my parents while Andrew stayed and helped around his parents house doing odds and ends that they needed done. A new screen door, caulked the kitchen cabinets and other things that he's good at doing.
Later that evening we all met up at one of Andrew's favorite restauraunts for dinner, Gringos! We had a bunch of people there to celebrate Andrew's birthday. Grandma and Grandpa Hawkes, The Schauerhamer clan (Allen, Elaine, Jeremy, Barry, Joanie and Emily) The Butikofers (Bryan, Lisa and little Statton) my parents (Alan and Shelley) and of course our little family! It was so fun having everyone together and to be able to be there for Andrew. He has such a great family and we love them so much!
I LOVE this picture! Can you tell why?
I also love this one, but for other reasons.
Leah loved Daddy's free fried ice cream.
Well that could have been the end of our exciting week but it didn't. This morning we said goodbye to my Dad for a little while. He headed off to Ethiopia and is going to be there for a couple of months. My mom heads out on March 2nd. Also, in church, Andrew was set apart as the first counselor in the Elder's Quorum. Wow! What a calling! I know he'll do a great job but I have to admit I'm sad that he won't be the 11 year old scout leader anymore. Bummer! And i'm not the only one who is disappointed. We were talking to one of his boys' mothers and she was soo upset and had really appreciated Andrew and all of his work towards the scout program. He really did do a great job!
I just wanted to show a few pictures from this evening. Leah and Andrew were bonding, A.K.A. chasing and wrestling each other all over the house. People wonder why Leah's so CRAZY and I just have to say two words, "her father."
(This is mid-scream, Andrew was coming around the corner to scare her) Good times....:)

It is hard to leave a calling that you love and that you are good at. I'm sure that Andrew will be of good service in the Elders Quorum. It looks like Andrew's birthday party was a blast and an addiction for fried ice cream may be developing in Leah. I really liked the picture of the little girls on their chairs in front of the chocolate fountain. You are part of a lovely family.
I am hoping my computer will actually let me comment. It looks like you are all enjoying yourselves terribly. Lily is starting to look like Leah. How can that be happening. Can't wait to see you in a few days.
