Andrew's Birthday and our New Addition!

Andrew's birthday was yesterday and it was a really good day. Andrew's such a good husband, brother, son, and father that we all wanted to make it a special day for him. We are so blessed to have him in our lives, he puts up with a lot having three girls in the house but I think he prefers it that way.

He hardly ever turns down a good wrestling match with the girls or pony rides, we love our Sunday afternoons for that reason. Andrew turned 28 this year which means he's getting pretty old but I'm sure he will be playing with the girls and our grandchildren til he's in his 60's. ;) We love our Andrew and appreciate all he does for our little family.

Lily gets pretty upset when she doesn't have her time with dad. They have quite a special bond.

Well... not necessarily for Andrew's birthday but we can count it as a gift, we purchased a new car. Yes for those who may have thought by, "New Addition" we meant we were pregnant, NOPE we are not! We just added this beauty to the family.

For the past five years we have been driving around my car I got for graduation, the Honda Civic. We love our car but it was getting to be a little too cramped for us. Plus we felt like we needed an all wheel drive vehicle, this car has a DVD player and fits up to eight people. Awesome! We got a good deal on it and thought it was about time we bought our first vehicle as a family. It is a 2007 GMC Acadia with all the extra features. We fell in love with it the first time we test drove it, so the next time you see us traveling down to Utah or just to church we'll be sportin' this new beaut! We kept our Honda of course, that's for Leah when she turns 20.

For Andrew's birthday party we invited the Walker's and the Wilson's over. Andrew just wanted it to be a small party and so that's what we did. We had delicious Mormon Family Cookbook sweet and sour meatballs, they are his favorite! As well as his favorite appetizer, bruschetta. I forgot to take pictures of the food but got some of the guests and Andrew.
The girls were happy because little Ethne Wilson came over to play. The girls were content in just sitting and watching The Incredibles, their new favorite movie. After the adults played a few games of Dominion we decided it was time to open gifts and eat cake.

Yep, Andrew got his very own Wii! He is sure excited about it, I thought for sure he knew about it beforehand since Leah had spilled the beans to him several times before yesterday. Andrew admitted he knew nothing about it and only thought Leah didn't know what she was talking about. Little did he know that she was trying to give him subtle hints the past few weeks. Well it was a good surprise and of course we had to get a fun game, Mario Party 8 to play with all our guests.
Andrew requested a strawberry banana cake so I googled it and found this delicious recipe, not technically a cake but I don't think that matters. It's called
strawberry banana split cake, click here for the recipe.
Delicious!
We had a wonderful rest of the night playing silly games on the Wii. After all our guests left, Andrew and I put the girls to bed and then raced each other on Wii Sports Resort kayak racing, which is hilarious and kind of a work out. :) I look forward to beating Andrew several more times in Wii sword fighting, and of course Wii Frisbee. I love getting gifts for people that I can enjoy just as much as they do! We love you Andrew and hope you had a wonderful 28th birthday!

Happy Birthday andrew! see you tomorrow. Hope you're driving that new beauty. It really is a pretty car. I'm glad I wasn't there for the cake, that would have added about five pounds I can do without.

Happy Birthday to you Andrew. I hope that you had an excellent birthday. I'm liking your new car and the Wii. Hey Morgan I have a wonderful recipe for strawberry banana. Grandma Jorgensen used to make it to go along with her strawberry banana ice cream. If you want I will email it to you. I wouldn't be surprised if your Mom has it also.

I am so glad that you got a new car. I always felt nervous for you guys driving the little car with the girls in the Winter in Idaho. It looks quite nice. I love new cars. So exciting. Happy late Birthday to Andrew.

Happy B-day to Andrew. And that is a beautiful car. But you know, having a car that big is just begging for a real "new addition" :)!
