Happy Heart!

Last Friday night the Walkers asked us if we would help them set up for the Stake Valentine's Dinner/Dance that they were in charge of. Since I never turn down helping with a party we headed down at 1:30 to help out. We didn't quite know what we were gettting ourselves into but what was I thinking when it is  a Schauerhamer/Walker event the motto is go big or GO HOME! The Walker's had some excellent ideas and we just helped pull it off. It turned out being the best Valentine's dance they have had in the stake and they have been throwing this event for at least five years. It was so fun and so romantic. ;)
The "sheets" are actually just really long plastic table cloths they bought at Sam's Club. There was one lady who was blown away because she thought for sure they were real cloth. Nope, just $13 dollars per 200 ft.
I wish I had a close up of the flowers on the tables they were beautiful fuscia orchids and there were even rose petals (cut scrapbook paper) on the tables.

We were worried people wouldn't want to dance since in years past it seems as though it's the time in wich everyone leaves but I don't think people could resist dancing under the tent and under the stars. I told myself many times earlier that day that I would not dance as much as I usually do but I just can't resist a good song, it made me feel better when I saw my mom from across the room start joining in the groovy song they were playing, then all broke loose and I danced like there was no tomorrow. I just love to dance!!! Andrew was a very good sport and danced too, he knows he's not the best dancer but I think he does it just to amuse me because he knows I love it so much. I love him for that. :)

At home I have had some cute valentine decorations up, I thought I would get a picture of my crafty decor. I've decided that I really like Subway art and think I'll do more of it in the future. The back is St. Patrick's day themed but I'll show that later.

I mentioned earlier that I was going to make some more cookies and that we did. I mostly just let the girls have their way with the dough (Jenny's Recipe) They loved cutting out and rolling and of course EATING! Eventually they all got cooked, decorated and then eaten without a picture. Do you like the girl's outfits. This is a daily occurance at our house.

The morning of the 14th I woke up to go get the girls out of bed and while I walked by the dining room table I noticed this load of Valentine love. Andrew got up early and placed all this out for us girlies. For me, beautiful flowers, for the girls overstuffed soft princess pillows.
For all of us we got the Incredibles Card. He is so good at making his own cards for birthdays, mother's day and now Valentine's day. I keep every single one of them because they are so clever. He never disappoints.

As soon as Lily got her pillow down from the table she ran into the middle of the room holding it in front of her and threw herself onto the pillow. It's her favorite thing to do with pillows. She has done it several times since. What a perfect gift for the girls, thanks Andrew!
I had got the girls some fun candy jewelry that they could make themselves. It took them a while but eventually they were adorned with white, pink and purple jewels. Mmmm... Tasty!

By the time that was all over I realized it was already noon. We were all still in our PJs, we have been having rough nights because we are all getting over pretty heavy duty colds. Leah even has cold sores on both sides of her mouth as you can see in the picture above. I had just decided to make some chocolate covered strawberries to take over to my parents when I heard a kick and a knock at the door. Figuring it was my parents, I gave them plenty of time to run off before i had the girls open the door. We opened it to find the cutest little Kicking Valentine pile ever. The girls sat at the door quite awhile looking at the love loot.
Eventually we called for my parents that I could tell were hiding behind our car. They were headed down to IF so I finished up the strawberries, packed them in a cute little box and gave them our Valentine's card we had made for them. Later that night we went down to Andrew's parents for dinner, they have been wanting us to come down for quite sometime to celebrate Andrew's birthday so we thought this was as good a time as any. We had a good time with his family and it was a good Valentine's day. I appreciate Andrew so much for doing the cute little things he does for me and the girls. We sure do love him a lot! Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Baum for the cute card and candies. We love you too! We sure are a blessed family!

"Those decorations are really realistic" That is an old Boardinghouse quote. Great job with the gym. I was always amazed at how beautiful gyms can become with a little paper or crepe paper etc. Glad you had a fun Valentines. Thanks for the Valentine. I had a notary public here at my house last night and I was closing on a refinance of my home loan and I just had to sign about a million papers. She looked over at the Valentines you sent and about had a cow. She thought they were so cute. It was really quite funny. I guess she has not seen many homemade valentines before. Can't wait to see you all in a few days.

We loved our valentine too. It arrived on Valentine's Day so it was even more charming. The gym looks so much better than a gym. The decorations were great. I'm glad you got to see your Mama shake a leg. Sorry about the colds.

WOW! The decorations at the dance are amazing! Our stake didn't do anything like that, at least I don't think so. I'm in the primary and we are kind of out of the loop on most things. Andrew is so sweet with how he surprised you guys with valentines. I love it when Kenny does things like that!
