You've Got a Minute, to Win it, Good Luck!

The end of August we had a Minute to Win it Party with some friends. Ever since I watched my first MTW show I knew I wanted to throw a party and do all of their fun crazy challenges. We had five other couples and we had the party down at the church because the weather was supposed to be bad, I say supposed to be because it turned out being beautiful. Oh well..
Anyway here are the contestants,

minus one because I didn't get a picture of them because by the time I thought to get pictures of the teams they had already left to relieve their babysitter, so instead in the above collage you get two pictures of the Walkers, Picasa did that without my knowledge until now. :)

We were all a little tired of hamburgers and hot dogs this summer so I decided it would be fun to have a big salad bar where everyone could bring their favorite salad topping. It turned out so great! Everyone got what they wanted and it was a refreshing meal after all the grilled foods this summer.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
For those who have never seen Minute to Win It, I'll just tell you that it's just people doing silly tasks using everyday items within a minute's time. Which equals hilarious! Andrew found a great minute countdown on YouTube and so that made the Minute that much more intense.

We divided into three teams and I had previously laid out a plan for which tasks where to go in which order. The first was Breakfast Scramble
I cut up cardboard box faces into many pieces and their challenge was to put it back together.
I was told the intense music from the countdown inhibited their thought and brain capacity, because two of the three were unable to complete the task. It was fun to watch though!

Second Task: Dizzy Mummy
Each person had to unroll a roll of toilet paper by mummifying themselves by making 360 degree turns with their body.
Maybe if we weren't so cheap and didn't buy such poor quality toilet paper this would have been better but it was still pretty good.

Third Task: Face the Cookie
I participated in this one, we had to have a cookie placed on our forehead and maneuver it using our face muscles so that it made it into our mouths. Funny to watch and even more funny to do!

Not as hard as it seems, we were all able to do it but it sure was fun to scrunch up my face like crazy!

Fourth Task: Penny Hose
This is where there are two pennies, one at the end of each leg of a pair of pantyhose. They have to retrieve the pennies without using the other hand or anything else.
Andrew did it in the best time, really fast actually, he later told me his secret strategy, leave it to Andrew to find a strategy for retrieving pennies out of pantyhose, that's my husband for you!

Fifth Task: Nose Dive
In hind sight I wish I would have made this one harder but they have to put Vaseline on the tip of their nose use it to transfer cotton balls from one plate to the other.

I should have made them move it from one side of the room to the other but it was funny watching them shake their heads to try and release the cotton ball.

Sixth Task: Keep It Up
This one was probably my favorite, they had to keep a feather in the air for a minute.
They got pretty into it and Andrew was all over the room, even out of the room and in the last second his feather went behind the table and he had to try and dive to keep it up. He failed... Oh well..

Seventh Task: A Bit Dicey
Using a knife clenched between your teeth you have to stack dice on the tip, when I tried this one at home it was really hard but somehow when the pressure was on we were all able to do it after a few tries.
I think we could have tried two more dice each.

Eighth Task: A Jimmy Fallon Game
This one isn't technically a Minute to Win it game but Rachel Erickson who helped out with the party thought it would be fun to try. With their hands tied to a stick behind their back they have to pour water from one bottle into a jar on the ground.

Apparently this is a lot harder than it looks, I think I got the idea when they started pouring water on their heads. This was pretty funny, the guy in the camo pants in the bottom left had to try it out after getting frustrated with his wife for not doing a better job, hey! she still won. He tried it and admitted that it was harder than it looked. :)

Overall it was a very good and entertaining night, we had a good time meeting new friends and having the Walker's back for their first social activity after being back from Arkansas.
