Boston Trip (Walden Pond, Community Garden and Orchard House)

I have learned since coming home that my life only got a bit busier when I got home from my great vacation, so busy in fact that I am just now having the time and energy to work on this post and perhaps others today!

Walden Pond
What I Learned: I learned that it's best to visit this pond when it is a bit overcast because you pretty much get the entire pond to yourself! I also learned that the fish in this pond love to eat graham crackers as well as anything else they think might be food (our toes!).

A Beautiful Little (BIG) Community Garden in Concord, MA
What I Learned: I learned that it only costs the residents $10 a year to have a garden plot, I would say that's pretty good though they have to pump their own water, (no hoses just watering cans or buckets).

The lady in the picture above is the one who told me about the garden, she was very nice and even gave me some of her tomatoes off the vine. Thank you nice lady and good job on your beautiful garden plot.

Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House
What I Learned: Louisa May Alcott was a feminist, her novel, Little Women was loosely based on her own life at Orchard House with her three sisters, she never married and she grew up among many of the well-known intellectuals of the day such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Henry David Thoreau.

Riding Around Boston
What I Learned: I was completely lost the entire time! So many trees I couldn't see anywhere! Also, pedestrians always have the right of way, at intersections there is a short time when all lights are red so pedestrians can cross however they want, straight or even diagonal. Weird!
