Lily is home!

Yesterday was the big day, first we took Leah over to Aunt Sara's house so that she could go to church with her and my mom so that Andrew and I could to to the hospital and get Lily. She looked so cute in her Easter dress. My mom made the dress and I think it turned out extremely cute and very, very puffy. She reminds me of a well decorated cupcake. I didn't really get to see her in it last weekend so I thought I would snap a few shots before we left. I was afraid she would completely destroy her hair or get all dirty so I got just a few.

She has really grown attached to Grandma this past week.

So we went to the hospital and signed the papers, unhooked her from all of her wires and took out the IV. I changed her and put her in her own outfit and she looked so darling. We took her home for a few hours and then brought her over to Sara's house. We basked in the sun because it was so nice and because Lily hasn't really ever been outside. She seemed very relaxed.

While we were outside they all came home from church and apparently it had been quite the experience. Leah was CRAZY as was to be expected, my mom had her hands full. I guess she ran all over the place and found herself in the middle of Elders Quorum twice. I bet that it was their best lesson in a long time. She was still really "fun" when she got home so I thought I would get some pictures taken of her in her dress and while her hair was still done. So here are a bunch.

Of course I had to take some pictures of Lily too, with Grandma.
We had been very anxious to see how Leah responded to her new little sister. She seemed curious at first and then she really wanted to get her hands on Lily's hair. She would pet her and give her soft pats on her stomach.

We then went to Josh and Stacy's where we had a delicious Sunday meal and all of the little kids finally got to see baby Lily, Hannah had been really sad that she wasn't ever able to visit her at the hospital and Jonas had been very confused all week why my belly was smaller and yet there was no baby. He finally got to see pictures of her on the blog and was anxious to see her in real life.
It will take some time for Leah to get used to this but I think she will make a really good big sister.
Here is Hannah finally getting to hold baby Lily. Hannah loves babies and is very good at holding them and brushing their hair with a toothbrush. hehe :)
So after a good meal and lots of family we went home. Then around 9 o'clock last night I started getting really bad cramps that wouldn't go away. We went to sleep thinking they would go away by morning but I woke up at around 1 in the morning and couldn't go back to sleep because they were getting worse. I took some Lortab and heated up the rice bag but the heat wasn't helping like I thought it should. We called my women's center to see if we could talk to a nurse or doctor to see what they thought was wrong. The nurse that I talked to thought it might be a urinary tract infection but I kept thinking it was probably something dealing with giving birth and being on the go shortly after. She suggested that I go to the ER at the IMC here in Murray and so we called my mom to come over and watch the girls while we headed to the ER. I was so mad at this point and frustrated that another thing was going wrong. Andrew was really good at forcing me to go. I was just hoping that it would just go away but it clearly wasn't. When we got to the ER the Lortab started to kick in and I started getting really drowsy and had really bad chills. They took my blood pressure and found that it was really low. I started to feel nauseous but as soon as I laid in one of the beds I started feeling okay but the cramps were still there. They took a urine sample by inserting a catheter and then ripping it back out, I was glad that I was a little drowsy but that was still a little unpleasant. They inserted an IV and pumped me full of a lot of fluids. They took some blood and went to get it tested. This all took nearly 5 hours and then finally they concluded that I have an infection in my uterus. I wasn't surprised to hear that but I was surprised when they just said they would prescribe some antibiotics and then send me home. The cramps have somewhat subsided but I still have been walking really slow and hunched over because they still really hurt when I walk or lay on my side. We came home and my mom was here with the girls and fortunately I had some milk already pumped for Lily from before nursing but Leah had awaken and was trying but not succeeding in going back to sleep. We got home at around 5:30 am and then Andrew took off at 6 to go take his Organic chemistry final that started in Provo at 7.
So here I am trying to survive my first day with both babes and dealing with an infection while Andrew is asleep trying to catch some z's before he starts studying for his next final. At this point I just keep asking myself "Will my life ever be normal again?" and "Could I please not go to another hospital for at least 24 hours!" I guess it's a little back to normal since I am sitting here blogging but I thought I would just update you all on the crazy life of the Schauerhamer family.

YEA!!! Such good news! She is SOOO adorable! Going from one to two kids is hard, but soon you'll adjust and things will feel normal again. At least until #3 comes along . . . I'm finding that's a whole different story!! Try to find some "me" time when you can so you don't go crazy! Good luck.

Oh, Morg--I am so sorry! As if having a new baby isn't enough to adjust to, you've had all these complications!! I'm so sorry, but hopefully things will start to get back to normal for you!

We've been praying for Lily and even though we've never met her, I already love her so much and just cried so hard when I first heard about her complications. We hope that you regain your full health Morgan and that you are able to get everything done that you need to at BYU Andrew.
